Historic Neir’s Tavern Ambassadors Launch Small Business Month Campaign to Drive Local Foot Traffic

QUEENS, NEW YORK – May 16, 2026 – In celebration of National Small Business Month, the Neir’s Tavern Ambassadors Club has launched a grassroots campaign designed to directly stimulate the local economy. Throughout the month of May, Ambassadors are taking their commitment to the streets by actively patronizing neighboring small businesses and documenting their visits by snapping photos of themselves wearing their signature Neirs Tavern swag.

The initiative, driven by the tavern's guiding philosophy that "community conquers all," aims to shine a spotlight on independent shops, restaurants, and service providers that form the backbone of New York City’s neighborhoods.

Momentum for the campaign is building rapidly. To date, the Ambassadors have generated over a dozen targeted visits to different local enterprises, utilizing their collective voice on social media to encourage others to shop local. With two weeks still left in Small Business Month, the group expects that number to grow significantly.

"We know firsthand the daily challenges independent operators face, and we believe that a thriving local economy depends on mutual, proactive support," said Loycent Gordon, CEO of Neir's Tavern. "By showing up in our gear and spending dollars at other local establishments, our Ambassadors are turning their advocacy into tangible action. It is a vital part of our Road to 200 mission—ensuring that not just our tavern, but our entire business community, makes it to the finish line together."

Neir's Tavern customer saw the posts and said "I moved all my prescriptions from CVS to Kalish Pharmacy (on Liberty & Crossbay). Someone always answers the phone, they know my name, they renew my prescription over the phone, they deliver, and in some cases they are a little bit cheaper than the big guys. Small business is essential to our community. Support small business!"

The campaign aligns seamlessly with the Ambassadors Club's focus on "Legacy Actions," empowering members to make a measurable impact on their city without getting lost in bureaucratic red tape. As participants continue to post their photos across social media platforms, the campaign serves as a visual reminder of the power of civic-minded professionals banding together for economic resilience.

Local business owners interested in being part of the campaign or individuals looking to join the movement can follow the Ambassadors' journey online.
